HINTS on Keeping W'underwear 'Like New'
Here is a 'Believe it or not':
We have customers who recently told us they still have their original
'Original W'undercovers!'
We began selling W'underwear in 1989. Surely they Must have been following
these suggestions!
( PS. We believe they need new ones.)
Always close the Hook and Loop after taking W'underwear off the horse.
Close the hook and loop either onto itself or matched onto its closure point.
Do the same when washing.
Do not use 'coat slicking products or other
sprays' under or near W'underwear fabrics.
—Some
of these formulas have ingredients that may harm Lycra®Spandex.
Keep W'underwear away from sharp objects.
—It's Like a
'Second Skin.'
Store W'underwear clean —and in a dry place during the off-season.

W'undercover®
EQUINE UNDERWEAR

W'underwear®
for Horses−The proven solution to blanketing problems.
It Works.
—like a second skin! Designer, Marlene
Newman, combined her unique concept of
—an inventive new piece
of 'horsewear', the original solution for coat protection under blankets
—with
a new fabric never used on horses before, Dupont Lycra® Spandex®.
At that time, in 1985, stretch fabrics were just newly introduced into the fashion market.
Our designer was first to foresee the benefits of stretch fabrics for use on
horses. The object of the effort was to create a
product that makes all blankets less damaging to the horse's coat and more comfortable for horses to wear. W'undercover®
equine underwear was so unique in concept and application that it was awarded a "Methods Patent" by the US Patent
Office, the most difficult patent to obtain. Worldwide Patents were awarded as well.
—W'undercover® adds a new level of coat protection for any horse that wears blankets.
W'undercover®
Why It Works.
A quote from the inventor of W'undercover®
equine underwear—
"Wundercover underwear for horses was the FIRST OF ITS KIND when we
introduced
the product in 1989. Since it never existed before, the idea just had to work. It had
to work in ALL cases, for all types of horses and...owners. Quite a tall order.
After testing many design prototypes, I settled on creating an 'insurance policy'.
My 'design insurance' − to make the W'undercover work in the marketplace for
as many horses as possible − was to design a second layer of protection
over the shoulder points. I settled on a very durable, yet very soft mesh fabric.
The blanket rides easily over the mesh, while the inner layer of
Lycra®
Spandex®,
protects the horse's coat. It worked, and it is still working—
As our customers have been telling us− hands above the copies."

SIZES and COLORS
SIZES
We have sizes to fit all horses
and ponies.
On the 'Sizing Page', you will find the
W'underwear Size Estimating Charts.
Estimating your horse's size is made easy
according to breed, blanket size, and height in hands.
These Estimating Charts reflect, on average, the sizes we have provided for
successful use on many breeds and types. Early on, we requested measurements
from our customers, so that we could help
with choosing the correct size. After years of collecting data, we developed
these quick reference charts for our customers.
Some horses do have special size needs. If you have any question about where
your horse fits in our size range, please feel free to contact W'underwear
with your measurements.
( See the Sizing Page for 'How to
Measure')
—We try
to respond for you within the same day.
NOTES ON FIT
Wundercover underwear should never be fitted too tightly on the horse.
There should be about 4 inches overlap at the girth-line 'Velcro' closure strip.
The inner body fabric at the shoulder should fit comfortably against the coat.
The outer mesh should have some 'give' or looseness to it. The mesh should never feel tight.
When fastening the center strap in front, bring the strap up to just meet the
matching 'velcro' at
the center chest comfortably.
Do not pull the neckline down too far.
COLORS
W'undercover underwear utilizes five different
fabrics. We had to standardize the color to Black.
and sometimes Navy, for availability and fabric inventory reasons. In the
past, we occasionally
had to include another color for the binding, for instance, but we keep
to the standard
dark color as much as fabric availability will allow.
